There's nothing better than eating fruit picked fresh from the trees, and you have the opportunity to do just that at the Yarra Valley's CherryHill Orchards. Celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2020, this family-owned business is committed to producing Australia's finest cherries
Cherry lovers can soak up the sunshine and stroll through the extensive fruit orchards as they pick cherries straight from the trees - to enjoy immediately or to take home and indulge later. The Pick Your Own season is running from 27th November 2020 to early January 2021. For the safety of guests, timeslots with limited guest numbers are being allocated. Each timeslot allows for two hours of cherry picking plus half an hour for entry and exit administration.
Tickets are on sale now, and cost $19.50 for adults, $10.50 for children, or $45 for a family (two adults, two children). While you can eat all the cherries you like as you pick, you pay for the cherries you take home. You can either have the fruit weighed after you've finished picking and pay by weight, or choose a Grab & Go option when you book ($18 for 1.5kg or $7.50 for 500g).
As well as the Pick Your Own experience, CherryHill is this year for the first time offering High Tea in the Orchards. Enjoy your own exclusive picnic among the avenues of cherry trees. Set within a private row of trees, visitors will enjoy a picnic basket full of goodies while lounging on vintage furniture. Each sitting is three hours and will include an indulgent cherry-inspired menu and sparkling wine. The cost is $195 for two people
