Be seduced by the beauty of drawing directly onto lithographic stone, a medium that captures pencil or brush strokes with all the varied beauty of tonalities across the image. Jacqui Driver inspires and instructs you in how to reproduce the gestural qualities of printed mark-making in a medium that has been around for 200 years. She pays particular attention to developing solid technical skills such as preparing the stone, drawing and etching on the stone, operating a printing press, handling the paper, and creating signed editions and series. Whether you are a beginner or someone with experience, you will build your knowledge of and skills in all lithographic techniques. Jacqui Driver is a Sydney-based artist who works with lithography, sculpture, sound and installation. She has been exhibiting nationally and internationally for many years and her work is held by The National Gallery of Australia, as well as Artbank and numerous other public and private collections. Jacqui has been a lecturer in printmaking at UNSW Art and Design since 2004 and also teachers in the National Art School Printmaking department delivering the undergraduate lithography intensives. For many years she worked as a lithographic printer for artists in Australia and in Dublin, Ireland.
