Slow down and find calm with Big Heart Adventures - experience the therapeutic benefits of the Japanese practice of 'Shinrin-yoku', or Forest Bathing, in Himeji Japanese Garden.
Meditative and mindful, this inclusive and accessible experience allows everyone an opportunity to connect deeper with nature for positive mental health outcomes. You will 'bathe' (fully clothed!) amongst the trees to absorb the natural chemicals into your bodies and minds. This slow, gentle bath enhances well-being while reducing stress, blood pressure and cortisol levels.
Participants can walk, sit, lay or stand for up to fifteen minutes at a time during the session. Light refreshments and tea are included at the conclusion of the session.
A list of essential and suggested comfort items and venue information will be emailed to attendees 48 hours prior to the event, subject to the weather forecast.
Support workers can attend for free; please request this at the time of booking. If this is part of your NDIS plan, please advise at the time of booking.
This event is recommended for those aged fifteen and above. Attendees under 18 are encouraged to attend with an adult.
Big Heart Adventures respectfully acknowledge that this gathering is on Kaurna Land.
