Explore 8-bit inspired pixel art during this exciting creative day for kids aged 9 to 12.
Pixel art, also known as 8-bit art, is a term used to describe a style of graphics associated with video games from the 1980s and early 1990s. In those days, computer games and animations were limited to 8-bit (or 2 colours) back when computers were not as powerful as they are today. Minecraft is an example of graphics that are inspired by 8-bit computer art.
Our young participants will have the opportunity to craft their very own pixel-art masterpiece using the creative tools Piskel and Adobe Illustrator. Once your unique design is ready, we'll use a state-of-the-art laser cutter to bring it to life as a keyring or badge. We'll also dive into the exciting world of analogue printmaking, where you'll have the chance to make stickers and prints using your one-of-a-kind design. Get ready for a day filled with pixelated creativity and fun!
