Exhibition of Utensils in the Han & Tang Dynasty 2020
The exhibition of Utensils in the Han & Tang Dynasty organized by China Cultural Center in Sydney will be released to the public.Based on historical classics and archaeological materials- a total of 83 pieces of imitations of typical costumes and related appliances from the Han and Tang dynasties of China were restored- including 14 pieces of Tang Dynasty garments- 11 pieces of female Tang Sancai- and 58 pieces of ceramics- which embarked on a wonderful historical journey.Today- we employ innovative techniques to reproduce the works of the Han and Tang Dynasties- and amaze the modern world with classical handcraft. Let's go through time and space and experience the glory and elegance of the Han and Tang Dynasties!*China Cultural Centre in Sydney is registered Covid-19 Safe. We have a Covid-19 Safety Plan and are committed to keep you safe. *Hygiene procedure- registration and temperature measurement will be taken upon arrival- and social distance of 1.5 metres will be maintained at all times. Wearing a mask is highly recommend during visiting.

Delight in Flamenco art- poetry dance and music with some of Sydney's finest artists!Annalouise Paul presents 'Flamenco for Everybody'. After the show- we'll have a Q and A with the audience about Flamenco culture- the social- historical and cultural elements. In dialogue with Annalouise and the musicians and singers- Rafael- Robbie and Byron- you learn about the influence of Romani- Jewish- Arab and Afro-Cuban cultures that make up Flamenco's songs- rhythms and dances.Ticket sales pay the professional artists and technical staff who have been struck without work due to Covid-19. We gratefully accept your help.About the ArtistsAnnalouise Paul offers a unique contemporary-flamenco dancing style. An award-winning choreographer.Byron Mark on percussion is a genius at that. His albums will be on sale too.Rafael Leon voice is authentic and soulful- a most-loved Flamenco singer.Robbie Varga gives us grit and flair- a highly-respected Flamenco guitarist.2 performances with a 22-in person limit for each show. Hotel Bella Luna 2020
Offering the opportunity to 'escape this year'- and Planet Earth itself- Hotel Bella Luna is the world premiere of a brand-new theatrical interactive experience- where audience members are invited to join the story.In a limited residency at Marrickville's Flight Path Theatre- you are invited into an immersive experience stretched across three rooms- set in an intergalactic hotel on the moon. As esteemed guests of the Hotel Bella Luna- you will arrive to find yourself stranded- as almost all the hotel's staff and supplies have been mysteriously shoved out of an airlock.Working together with the remaining 'hotel staff'- the show is reactive to audience decisions- with no two visits the same. Expect puzzle solving- high-pressure voting on which systems to fix- and plenty of secrets to be discovered. Hotel Bella Luna is also introvert-friendly- and hotel guests who wish to simply observe will be given the option to opt-out- with no personal responsibility for saving the Hotel.Adhering to strict COVID-safe guidelines- the show has also been designed from the ground up for patrons' safety- with reduced capacity in order to allow for social distancing. Masks are mandatory in the Hotel- and clear instructions will be given to the audience to follow procedure. A ticket purchase to Hotel Bella Luna will also include a donation- with 5% of total profits directed towards Pay The Rent.

Light Shadow: Koo Bohnchang 2020
The Korean Cultural Centre (KCC) Australia is presenting a new photo exhibition Light Shadow: Koo Bohnchang as part of the Head On Photo Festival this year.Featuring 39 photography works- Light Shadow captures the moment of encounter between baekja (-white porcelain) and -dal hang-ari (moon jar) of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910)- a camera and an artist.South Korea's leading photographer- Koo Bohnchang embarked on a journey in search of Korean baekja scattered all over the world in different museums. For more than 30 years- he has been a pioneer and leader of modern Korean photography.Baekja was the defining nature of the craft during the Joseon Dynasty. Royal and noble families preferred pure white surfaces and humble shapes compared to extravagant patterns and decorations. In particular- dal hang-ari which is considered to best represent the essence of Joseon white porcelain- is regarded as one of the greatest embodiment of Korean beauty and spirit through its pure white hue and round formations.IMPORTANT NOTICE*There will be no opening event for the exhibition due to COVID-19. My Two Lives 2020
96 year old Holocaust survivor Lotte Weiss survived Auschwitz- but was the only one of her family to survive. As a young girl she lost everything but managed to go on to live a meaningful life. She has devoted many years as a volunteer at the Sydney Jewish Museum- telling her story to thousands of student and adult visitors.In this online talk- Lotte's sons- Gary and Johnny- will tell us more about her miraculous and heartbreaking story of survival.We will also screen a short film made by Sarita Gold- which profiles Lotte and her daughter in-law and artist Thea Weiss. Thea has produced multimedia artworks inspired by Lotte's story. The short film has won a number of awards and has been selected as a finalist for the Moscow Jewish Film Festival and as a semi-finalist for the Rhodes Film Festival. Yad Vashem has also requested it for their collection to accompany Thea's work- presented to them a few years ago.
