With the start of a new month comes plenty of new activities and events. This month, there are great art exhibitions to view, kid friendly adventures to take your children to and new local markets to buy from. Take a look at the list below to find your next event for this month.

Art: Visit the Art Gallery of NSW

This month, the Art Gallery of NSW is opening up several exhibitions for you to explore. If you are interested in Japanese culture, then the Japan Supernatural will showcase over 180 different artworks from historical and contemporary Japanese artists. However, if you prefer to explore artworks that are closer to home, then there is also the Where we all live exhibition, created by Rusty Peters, Phyllis Thomas and Peter Newry. The minimal artworks discovers the notion of human creation. However, if you are less keen on looking at artworks and more excited by the prospect of creating them, then the gallery also has some interactive workshops, such as the Kaldor Studio: Books without words activity, whereby artist Nadia Odlum will teach participants how to create artworks from paper.

Kids: Take your kids to the Maritime Museum’s Sensory-Friendly Sundays

Allow your children to immerse themselves into the Australian National Maritime Museum’s Sensory-Friendly Sundays, where they can test out their senses in a range of activities and exhibitions. This program includes interactive activities to get the kids involved and thinking as they dig through archaeological sites, solve puzzles and play with bubbles and slime.

Dining: Treat yourself to a high tea

February is the last month to try out the Ultimate Vegan High Tea, presented by the InterContinental Sydney. Even if your diet is not vegan, you can still enjoy the refined delicacies that this menu has to offer. However, if you are interested in something more indulgent, then on the 5th of February, Sydney Tower Buffet is offering a Nutella Sky-High Tea experience to celebrate World Nutella Day. This experience will be filled with breakfast and dessert items to satisfy any sweet tooth.

Shopping: Buy some fresh food from the Sydney Organic Farmer’s Market

The Entertainment Quarter is opening the Sydney Organic Farmer's Market for local farmers to sell their fresh produce, starting from the 29th of January. Come down every Wednesday and Saturday to have a chat with the local farmers and support their small businesses with your purchases.

Culture: Lunar New Year Eateries

Throughout February, an abundance of places will continue to celebrate 2020 Lunar New Year with their own offers. If you are interested in a festive dining experience, then there are plenty of choices. For example, the Sydney Tower Buffet is offering a luxurious, Chinese inspired dining experience to celebrate the New Year. You can even upgrade to a Penfolds Window Table Package, which allows you to be seated at a window with waterfront views. However, if you are looking for something more budget friendly, then you can visit the Rocks Lunar Markets, which has plenty of street food options.
