Who doesn’t miss good food and great atmosphere? The good news is: restaurant restrictions have been eased; we can now dine out again. However, there are certain rules including social distancing and strict hygiene measures that we need to follow to mitigate the spread of Covid-19.
Here is Australia's current state-by-state restaurant guide.
- NSW: Restrictions was lifted from Friday, May 15
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced that restaurants and cafes could have up to 10 people at any time. Many venues are now opening for bookings to limit the long wait. Check out our latest reviews on Sydney hottest restaurants and cafes.
- Victoria: Restaurant can reopen from June 1
According to Premier Daniel Andrews’s announcement on May 17, restaurants, cafes and the dining areas of pubs can have up to 20 patrons at any time. Starting from June 22, restrictions would be lifted to 50 customers. From Mid July, many venues will be allowed up to 100 people per enclosed space. - Western Australia: Restrictions was eased from May 18
Starting from May 18, cafes and restaurants and dining services (within pubs, bars, clubs, hotels and casino), are allowed to have up to 20 patrons. Check out our hottest spots in Perth.
- Queensland: Restriction was eased from May 15
Stage 1 restaurant restriction has been lifted in Queensland effective at 15 May. Restaurants, cafes, pubs and RSL clubs (dining services only) are allowed to serve up to 10 customers at any time. - South Australia: Dining services can reopen from Monday, May 11
South Australian Premier Steven Marshall announced dining services (including dining areas of pubs and other licensed venues) are permitted to serve up to 20 people.
