He came to rob a bank. He ended up in a pie shop.
From the brilliantly bizarre brain of Carl Bland and award-winning New Zealand company Nightsong comes Mr Red Light - a wild, whip-smart comedy of chaos, fate and pastry, captivating audiences at Riverside Theatres from the 9th to 12th July.
Mr Red Light is cursed with bad luck. When his latest heist falls flat, he finds himself trapped in a hostage situation with three of the oddest captives you’ve ever met – plus a police negotiator so inept he makes things worse just by showing up.
The production is co-directed by Ben Crowder (I Want To Be Happy) and Carl Bland (TV’s Rude Awakenings), and features an ensemble cast of five including beloved NZ screen actress Jennifer Ludlam (TV’s Sons and Daughters, Prisoner), Brayden Cresswell (Toi Whakaari’s Mr Burns), Nova Moala Knox (ATC’s Peter Pan), and Angus Stevens (TV’s Madam).
Life, death, love, pies – Mr Red Light throws it all into a mix and makes it scrumptious.
