The aim is for the attendees of this event to discover and learn from real life experiences with practical tips and advice for their own personal career journeys. In addition, we will hear from an Odyssey House graduate about turning their life around as a result of our programs.
The money raised from this event will provide crucial funding towards our Parent's and Children's Program.
This program helps parents develop the skills to set up and manage a safe and healthy family home. Parents receive residential rehabilitation treatment as well as guidance from family support workers, while children receive special paediatric support to mitigate harms and break the cycle of generational drug and alcohol use.
The impacts of alcohol and other drug use are related but not limited to healthcare, pain and suffering, loss of life, and reduced quality of family life to name a few. In 2020-21 we provided direct services to 183 parents through Odyssey's Reconnecting Families programs, however there is large unmet demand for residential rehabilitation.
