55" celebrates 55 years of Thawa-based artist Malcolm Cooke’s ceramic practice.

Drawing on five decades of experience of working in ceramics Cooke presents a series of wheel thrown woodfired forms. Bottles large jars and platters are enhanced with decoration using brush work stamping etching and traditional inlay and carving techniques. The works explore the subtle effects of ash and flame on the fine decoration and glazes.
