Only Sydney performances! Igniting memories of a story that millions of Australians can relate to, Michaela Burger [Aftertaste (ABC)/Exposing Edith/Apocalypse Meow/Rumpelstiltskin] pays tribute to her Greek migrant family and hard-working, fun loving larrikin father Luke who defied all odds and rose above his circumstances.
From early morning deliveries for the family bakery at age 7, down opal mines in Coober Pedy at age 16, and opening a chain of discount supermarkets in Adelaide, Luke's road was not one for the faint-hearted.
Featuring original songs, a local community choir and live band, including bouzouki, Michaela tells her family story with poignancy and comical aplomb.
Michaela Burger is described by Australia's leading lady of cabaret Kate Ceberano as an 'asset to the cabaret community'. Come join Michaela for an evening of song and laughter, memories and the love of family.
'A far-reaching generational story that crosses divides, ignites memories and pulls at your heart-strings' Stage Whispers
'A perfect cabaret show - fun and laughter, tragedy and triumph...told by the perfect cabaret performer' Arts Review
