We are excited to be able to offer a girls only version of our popular After School Skills Program! We hope the program will support girls who are interested in mountain biking and give them an opportunity to develop their riding skills, meet new friends and build confidence.
The program is designed for girls aged 10 to 14 and is delivered on the Craigburn Farm Shared-Use Trails. There are no pre-requisites for participants and the program is perfect for beginners, so long as they can ride confidently on two wheels.
The Term 4 program will run for 5 weeks and focuses on the key skills of mountain biking such as:
* Bike handling and balance
* Control and trail reading
* Technique (discipline independent)
Riders will also learn about the non-practical aspects of mountain biking, including:
*Trail etiquette for shared-use networks
* Risk assessment and management skills
* Knowledge of participation opportunities
