Making her latest music in the grip of fresh love and fresh grief, Angel Olsen has found a place of clarity in her songwriting. Performing with an expansive and elastic mastery of her voice, her songs are firmly rooted in country music. There's playful bits of Tammy Wynette and Kitty Wells, but also complex orchestrations, with swells of strings, instrumentation that cycles like a storm, and sparkling horns. Olsen has recorded six studio albums, including Big Hot Mess, which won the Libera Awards Best Folk/Bluegrass Record in 2021; her latest album Big Time, was released in 2022.
