Barayagal is a collective of 1st Nations people and people of Sydney University & the community of Redfern, that gather to sing songs of culture and stories.
Directed by Yuwaalaraay songwriter Nardi Simpson, 'We sing to the place we are in and to the places we all come from.'
Alongside ARIA nominee Kevin Hunt, who was awarded Jazz musician of the year (1998), is Barayagal's incredible Choir Master.
First Nations people of Sydney are invited to join Barayagal. We welcome people who want to sing for the first time, and all nationalities who have been singing all their lives.
Barayagal is a community choir, hosted weekly at Redfern Community Centre.
Barayagal is administered by YARN Australia, Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Sydney University and Last Minute Productions.
