Barker's of NZ, producers of world-class jams, chutneys, savoury and dessert sauces and fruit compotes, is excited to be opening their first Barker's of NZ Foodstore and Eatery in South Melbourne, Victoria, with a grand opening beginning Wednesday 14th September.
The opening marks the first Food store and Eatery for Barker's of NZ in Australia, inviting food lovers to enjoy a relaxed space for dine-in and takeaway, as well as offering a retail store in which there will be a wide range of Barker's of NZ products to purchase.
Showcasing a brand-new fit-out, the space situated directly under Barker's of NZ South Melbourne office, will showcase the quality and flavour of New Zealand to the local community through simple yet delicious meals. The interior design aims to create a refined, inviting destination, where down-to-earth food and the Barker's of NZ family warmth will be offered to Barker's fans, new and old.
To celebrate the opening, the first 60 customers who dine in between Wednesday 14th September to 25th September, will receive a complimentary Boysenberry Marshmallow Tart. This innovative sweet treat features a toasted marshmallow topping, served with lemon sorbet, to create an explosion of flavour.
Inspiring food lovers with their quality products and food experiences, Barker's of NZ Foodstore and Eatery will be considered as the local neighbourhood go-to for delicious meals and food products, including their delicious jams, dessert sauces, relishes, meal sauces, immunity shots and savoury chutneys.
The Foodstore & Eatery will be serving breakfast and lunch dishes, all featuring Barker's of NZ premium products, as well as an array of delectable sandwiches, pastries and cakes. The menu features dishes such as:
• Free-range eggs on sourdough bread, served with Barker's Farmhouse Tomato Relish (eggs poached, folded or fried)
• 3 Cheese omelette served with Barker's Green Tomato Chutney
• Lemon myrtle hollandaise on top of poached eggs with your choice of Smoked salmon or mortadella
• Avocado and poached egg served with Barker's Yuzu Citrus Dressing, toasted seeds, Meredith Goats Cheese Feta
• Chilli folded egg served with grilled prawns and charred baby corn cooked in Barker's Family Coconut Curry
• House-made waffle served with Barker's lemon curd, Italian meringue and lemon sorbet
