This new exhibition offers a viewpoint into contemporary art from two Aboriginal-owned art centres in the Kimberley, Waringarri and Kira Kiro. It is a unique celebration of the vibrancy of Aboriginal art, specifically showcasing emerging talent. 

Waringarri in Kununurra is the first wholly indigenous owned art centre established in the Kimberley, and one of Australia's oldest continuously operating art centres. It includes Kira Kiro Art Centre in Kalumburu on the north Kimberley coast, one of WA's most remote communities. These centres are places of support for the artists who live on Country, with over 100 artists involved. The artists work in diverse art forms, creating works that speak of Aboriginal culture and contemporary, personal, social and political issues. 

This is a show that is innovative in its nature, promoting the interests of contemporary Aboriginal artists and their communities with a focus on those who have not had the opportunity, or rarely, to exhibit in Perth. Featuring over 35 works selected by the Curator in collaboration with Waringarri, it includes painting, ceramics, sculpture, wood carving, textiles and a short stop-animation project.
