This showcased event has concluded.
How to be Stoic in chaotic times? Popular Guardian journalist and columnist Brigid Delaney suggests some answers in her new book, Reasons Not to Worry.
'Brigid has the most incredible gift of taking seemingly complex and esoteric concepts and explaining them to the reader in a way that is generous and clear, but above all, relatable,' says Ben Lee of Reasons Not to Worry. 'Reading this book is like having a long walk with your cool big sister while she just happens to be giving you the skinny on Greco-Roman philosophy.'
On Tuesday 20 September at the Royal Oak Balmain, join Delaney in conversation with former host of Triple J's Hack Tom Tilley, who has just released his debut book, Speaking in Tongues.
Attendees are asked to arrive at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Seating is unallocated - another reason to arrive early to secure an optimal spot. Why not make a full evening of it, too, by booking a meal at the Royal Oak before or after the event? One of Balmain's oldest and best-known pubs, it serves a delicious range of food and beverages.
Reasons Not to Worry will be available for purchase at the venue through Roaring Stories, with book signings from Delaney following the discussion.
If you miss out on a ticket, you can still watch the event as it is livestreamed from the Roaring Stories Facebook page (accessible on the Home page and from the Live tab). A recording will also be available to view later as an upload on the Roaring Stories YouTube channel.
