Brisbane City Council invites you to this fun event in your local park to help cool your neighbourhood and your home. Learn how to use plants and materials to reduce your electricity bills, hear about the great work of local community groups and plant street trees to make your local footpaths shadier.
Come along to meet your neighbours, plant street trees and enjoy a sausage sizzle and cold drink. There's something for the whole family:
- Wildlife display
- Live music
- Sausage sizzle and coffee
- Eco games for the kids
- Free native plants
- Local community displays
- Expert cooling advice.
For those participating in the street planting, please wear sturdy cover shoes, hat and sun protection. Street tree holes will be dug beforehand. All new street trees are carefully chosen to suit the site and local area, and will be established and maintained by Council.
Location: Meet at Bridgnorth Street Park in Boynedale Street, Carindale.
