7.15pm Clarissa Mei
8.15pm Small FRY
Vivan Vo aka Small FRY is a Melbourne-based artist manager. With a focus on Asian-Australian artists in pop music, she manages Rainbow Chan and Yeo.
With a background in the community radio sector at SYN Radio and JOY 94.9, she currently presents Mooncake on 3RRR, a weekly program celebrating the diverse sounds from Asia and all Asian disaporas.
As an active member of the music industry, Vivan has offered her expertise as a panel speaker for Music Victoria, The Push and Face The Music, mentor for The Push and selection judge for BIGSOUND Singapore Showcase and National Live Music Awards and recently participated in The Seed Fund, AAM Grow and Co-Pilot Programs.
As a DJ, Small FRY has performed at events for National Gallery of Victoria, Multicultural Arts Victoria, Liminal Magazine and Healthy Tapes. She is also the co-founder of collective Big Bao, curating events and parties showcasing artists of colour.
Vivan Vo is an advocate for diversity and multiculturalism within the music industry and aims to reflect this through all aspects of Small FRY, Big Bao and Mooncake.
9.15pm Yeo
Malaysian-Australian musician and producer Yeo continually explores the intersections of R&B, pop and electronic music. He traverses these dimensions through his music, with the use of innovative instrumental arrangement, wry lyricism and a truly unique genre-bending sonic palette.
Yeo's expansive body of work extends over a decade of releases, spanning many relatable themes-the complexities of human relationships, the impact of racial injustice, and the nature of conflict. Yeo's raw lyrics and nostalgic melodies delve into the depths of his personal experiences as a person of colour struggling to find confidence and a place to belong.
These themes are prevalent in Yeo's latest R&B-infused pop album Recovery Channel (2019) and Desire Path (2017) which included many collaborations such as with Kira Puru, Asta and Fractures.
Alongside his solo project, Yeo has upheld many roles including music director and band member to Emma Louise, band member for Mo'Ju, producer and co-writer on Asta's EP Shine and co-producer on Charlie Lim's EP CHECK-HOOK.
Yeo has toured nationally selling out Howler and Newtown Social Club and performed internationally in Ecuador, Iceland, Singapore and has supported the likes of HÆLOS (UK), Giraffage (US), Kimbra (NZ) and Harts (AU).
2021 sees Yeo releasing a string of singles lifted from his forthcoming body of work, TIRED, NO MORE. The album will include his raw and exposed song TIRED, emoR&B cut OBSESSION and '90s-inspired bass-driven U IN? which features the return of his infamous keytar solo.
