Don't miss your opportunity to grab a seat at the bar by Archie Rose.
Friday night's program features Cherise Atip, Maggie Tra and Flower Boy.
4pm Cherise Atip
Cherise Atip 19 year old singer, songwriter and performer from Sydney Australia. Sharing her love of music, busking in the streets of Chatswood since the age of 13, releasing her first single Sweet & Misleading at 17 and during her high school life Cherise was a member of the Australian Girls Choir.
She has performed at iconic venues such as the Sydney Opera House, State Theatre and grabs every opportunity to share her love of music, from local Spring Festivals to opening acts singing duet with Mark Bautista for David Pomeranz and Melissa Manchester's concert in 2019.
6pm Maggie Tra
A hint of sweet with a dash of spice, spell-bounding smooth selector/producer Maggie Tra uses the world as her playground. The Australian born Vietnamese/Cambodian sets bring finesse and flair to the dance-floor by embracing the culture of the land she's in with wholeness and conviction. Maggie musically exposes herself within her sets in varying perspectives, whether she's spinning Hip Hop, Soul and R&B tunes to House, Disco & Funk. The DJ graced the decks in India, Brussels, Berlin, London, Australia and Vietnam.
8pm Flower Boy
At the heart of her hazy songwriting is a duality of melancholic love songs and odes to identity and heritage. Born in Sydney to Chinese and Lebanese parents, flower boy 卓颖贤 paints emotional images with her classically-trained background combined with forward-thinking production.
Unafraid to play with textures, her soundscapes are anxious, ambient, and affecting in the extreme. Atmospheric beats and experimental percussion are pieced together to form visceral and unrelenting electronica, overlaid with emotive and expressive melodies. The vulnerability, intimacy, and rawness of flower boy 卓颖贤's art is clear from the start. Refusing to cater to trends or adhere to particular genre 'rules', there is a certain power she brings to her music by knowing who she is and what she's about. flower boy 卓颖贤 treats her life like a movie; she's simply soundtracking it.
As a DJ and live act she has performed in clubs, festivals, and art galleries across Australia as well as in Beijing and Shanghai, scored multiple short films, and facilitated workshops in music production. Since being named FBi Radio's Independent Artist of the Week in 2018 following the release of her debut EP 'FASCI(N)ATION', she has been working on a follow up EP to be released in 2022.
