Willoughby City Council is inviting artists to submit an expression of interest to design and install a temporary large-scale public artwork at The Concourse. It will be part of the Chatswood Year of the Dragon Festival program.
In 2022 the Chatswood Year of the Tiger Festival presented Curious Tiger, an artwork installation by artist collaborative Amigo & Amigo. For the Chatswood Year of the Rabbit (2023), Council engaged Amanda Parer of Parer Studio to install eight large-scale inflatable rabbits across the Chatswood CBD.
Similarly, the upcoming 2024 Lunar New Year Festival will showcase a temporary public artwork that responds to themes and symbols associated with Year of the Dragon.
The work can be an existing work that has not been exhibited in Greater Sydney in the last 24 months or a new commission. We are seeking works that are inclusive, engaging and honour our cultural diversity. They can be in any medium, although our preference is not inflatables.
To be sent a artist brief with further details and responsibilities, please fill out the following form.
Any enquiries, please email events@willoughby.nsw.gov.au.
