How delving into the otherworld of the universe may one day transform our lives.
There is a mysterious substance always surrounding us. Detecting it would make for one of the major scientific discoveries in our lifetime.
We're talking about dark matter.
Dr Ciaran O'Hare, a leading theoretical physicist, explains how understanding dark matter may one day change our everyday lives. History shows that the pursuit of apparently impossible feats, like trying to detect invisible substances, is precisely what has led to many of the technological advancements we use every day.
