This creative Sydney school holidays class shows children how they can bring their favourite drawings to life in the form of a toy! Whether it's a tree, creature, pet or person, they'll love the process of creating their very own design.
During this fun class, we will be using leftover fabrics or clothes that are not in good enough condition for donating to charity. Kids are welcome to bring along an old item of clothing or select from our fabrics.
We will work with them to draw a simple picture that can be transferred to fabric. They can then choose from a range of notions to add interest to their design, utilising materials like wool, buttons, fabric, trim, ribbon, etc. They'll attach these using basic stitching skills.
Next comes sewing the edges and stuffing, which is another great opportunity to give purpose to leftover scraps of fabrics. At the end of the class, they will take home their own unique toy!
This Sydney school holidays workshop is suitable for children eight to 12-years-old. If you are looking for school holiday activities in Sydney, then this is perfect!
Please note: We encourage parents/carers to advise us of a child's special needs so we can assess whether we need to adapt any part of the workshop or request the parents/carers to stay.
