SIMA presents Jazz: NOW Summer Festival featuring - Double Bill: Ben Lerner Quartet + Tessie Overmyer Trio - Wednesday, 16th of February 2022:
Brass is the star in this special double bill showcasing Sydney's best young horn players.
Awarded with a scholarship to the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, NZ saxophonist Ben Lerner matured his expressive tone under maestros Roger Manins, Will Vinson, Immanuel Wilkins, and George Garzone. Now playing alongside Sydney's best, Ben has reaped the rewards of learning from the masters.
The other half of this horn-centric bill features Tessie Overmyer hailing from Newcastle. Her dynamic sound is rapidly gaining her recognition for a maturity that appears well beyond her years. You'll be hearing much more from these two young players who will be at the forefront of Australian jazz in years to come.

Ben Lerner - Alto Sax
Steve Barry - Piano
Maximillian Alduca - Double Bass
