Du Choff translates his thoughts, feelings and fantasies into portraits. The amygdala is the centre in the brain that is primarily associated with emotional processes and responsible for processing emotions such as fear, anger and pleasure. In this series, the portrayed subjects are subordinate; they are at the service of Du Choff. He thus personifies his feelings and translates his melancholy into images.
Du Choff is the alter ego of award-winning Dutch photographer Guido Benschop. At age 18, he started photographing for various newspapers and photo agencies. Nowadays he mainly makes portraits for magazines, newspapers and series.
After delivering the first online festival in the world in May, attracting 80,000 visits, Head On Photo Festival returns with a printed festival of quality photography this November.
