‘Elemental' is a culmination of painting trips around the country but primarily at Arkaroola in the Northern Flinders Ranges.

Mellissa and Julie are both established Sydney based artists whose vibrant and engaging work is collected worldwide. They regularly travel together exploring the Australian outback settling down to sketch and paint.

Mellissa was born in England and as a child emigrated to Australia with her family. Having lived in Melbourne, Canberra, Townsville, and Darwin, she now lives in rural Sydney overlooking the Hawkesbury River. Since the 90's she has continuously studied and practised painting and printmaking honing her art to vibrant optimistic harmony with the natural landscape.

The recipient of many Australian art prizes, Mellissa's style is distinctive with her electric palette and layered application of brush strokes.

Julie spent her formative years in western Sydney and now resides in rural Castlereagh at the foot of the Blue Mountains. Julie was employed in an art studio in Sydney preparing tonal drawings for major department stores including David Jones. In 2004 Julie attended the Mitchell Arts program in Bathurst and since then has developed her own unique style working across many different mediums.

Julie and Mellissa are both Fellows of the Royal Art Society teaching art around Australia.
