An exhibition of paintings by Olivia Shimeld and Tim Kelly.

Olivia Shimeld

With a background in electronic and temporal art, Blue Mountains-based artist Olivia Shimeld has found a way to give her paintings a uniquely digital aesthetic. Here ethereal abstract landscapes, night skies and floral assemblages flash with vibrant neon colours layered atop one another, creating a depth of space reminiscent of a digital screen.

Olivia uses high quality acrylic, oil and aerosolpaints which she intuitively allows to drip and splatter onto her canvas. At oncemeditative and energetic, Olivia's work asks for contemplation as it blurs material boundaries.

Tim Kelly

Street advertising posters glued to the walls of inner city suburbs are the starting point for this artist's work over the past decade. Using collage and decollage techniques, he reconstructs torn poster material into new images.

Tim Kelly is a graduate of Alexander Mackie CAE, City Art Institute and in 2019 received an M.Art with Excellence from COFA, UNSW. His work is held in public collections in Australia and New Zealand. Tim works from his studio in Millthorpe NSW with regular trips to Sydney to strip poster material from walls for new works.

Covid-safety

Covid-19 safe procedures operate at the gallery. We record names for contact tracing, supply hand sanitiser, disinfect our surfaces and have only 25 people in the gallery at a time, applying social distancing.
