Interested in learning more about a career in First Nations histories?
You will hear from five historians currently working in different parts of the history sector focused on telling First Nations histories. From museums to archaeology and cultural heritage studies, this hybrid event (both in-person and online) presents a fantastic opportunity for audiences to learn the various pathways to building a career in First Nations history and network with inspiring and experienced professionals who have trodden the path and learned some valuable lessons along the way.
Guest speakers Dr Kiera Lindsey, Dr Paul Irish, Historian Neenah Gray, Curator Emily McDaniel and Heritage Consultant/Field Archaeologist Brye Marshall will cover a range of topics from how they obtained their qualifications to how they got their first break and the projects they are currently working on. We will also hear from a representative of a history/heritage company with a solid track record of employing First Nations historians to hear about their aims and goals and what sets a good candidate apart.
Get your questions ready and join us for an evening of networking, learning and enjoyment!
Refreshments will be available following the talk so please register for catering purposes.
