Look up from the streets of the city centre and spot the vibrant artworks of Asian-Australian artists on street banners to celebrate the Year of the Horse.
Inspired by the meeting of fire and water, this work reflects the balance between 2 forces that seem opposite but belong together.
Inspired by the spirit of fire, Flare carries the feeling of energy that burns from the inside out. Fire can bring warmth, light and hope, but it can also burn wild if not respected.
Inspired by the movement of water, Flare reflects softness and quiet strength. Water bends, flows and finds its way through every space. It does not fight but it never stops moving.
Life is never just one thing. Some moments ask for courage and loud energy. Others need quiet steps and soft hearts. There's no good or bad between them - only the right time to use each.
Like yin and yang, both sides give power in their own way. One gives strength. One gives clarity. Together they build harmony.
This artwork speaks about walking through life with balance. Not choosing one side forever but learning when to burn and when to flow.
