During the United Nations International Year of Glass, UNSW Galleries celebrate some of Australia's most fascinating practitioners working with glass in a series of solo exhibitions that facilitate exchanges between space, history, and architecture.
Consuelo Cavaniglia presents a new body of work featuring handmade sheet glass; Liam Fleming, a glassblower, artist and designer whose new body of work experiments with coldworking techniques; Mel Douglas explores the potential and flexibility of glass as a material for drawing and Louis Grant who pushes the boundaries of glass making and contemporary sculpture, as an abstract exploration of queer experience.
Join the practitioners for a panel discussion moderated by Aimee Frodsham, Artistic Director of Canberra Glassworks, at 2pm Saturday 15 October 2022. This program will be followed by opening celebrations from 3-5pm.
