'Sydney, being a harbour town, is spacious, surrounded by virgin land, open vistas and beaches wherever you look. The harbour is fundamental to the way we live in this city, how we get from one place to another or having places close to the water to reflect, contemplate and unwind.

My latest works are inspired by the harbour and what I see around me every day. They are not natural representations or of any one place, but a collective, dreamy rendition and a poetic interpretation of the way I see my surroundings.' - Godwin Laus, 2021

Godwin Laus migrated to Australia from Malta in 1981. After a career in graphic design, Laus graduated with Honours from the National Art School (BFA Painting Major) in 2004. He has exhibited around Sydney in solo and group exhibitions and has been a finalist and Highly Commended in prizes such as the Waverley Art Prize, the Hornsby Art Prize, and the Northern Beaches Art Prize.
