This showcased event has concluded.
Sometimes people are dead before they die. Sometimes they just die.
Good Grief is a tragicomic solo show about a complicated young woman navigating a complicated inheritance.
At 21, Georgie has a choice between her estranged mum's life and a job in San Francisco. She gets a call 4 hours before her flight home to Sydney... and like that, she's gone.
As executor of the will, Georgie is tasked with clearing up the mess her mum left behind. Sorting kitchen accoutrements makes her think of all else her mum has given her. Does Vinnies accepts inherited characteristics? Through her mother, and her grandmother's stories, Georgie pieces together the darkness that links them all.
A story of intergenerational trauma, grief, and the burden of inheritance.
'They made you afraid of the darkness because you can't see, and of the daylight because you can.'
Debuted at Adelaide Fringe 2023.
The show runs for approx. 45 minutes and commences at 9:00pm. We recommend audiences arrive at least 20 minutes before the show commences.
