This show at the intimate and cozy Lazybones 'Level 1' room will be an opportunity to witness the band's process of transitioning from their indie-chamber works towards a more jazz-oriented phase. Audience members have compared the new sound to Kurt Weill, Mark Ribot, and soundtracks for Fellini films.
The evening will begin with a solo set by award-winning flautist, pianist and composer Keyna Wilkins, whose music is characterised by a passion for human rights, astronomy, Indigenous culture, jazz, intuitive improvisation and existential quests.
