Remember the post-election acrimony in 2016 about Hillary Clinton winning the popular vote, but Donald Trump winning the Electoral College vote? So, how do Americans elect their president? How was the Electoral College System invented and why is it still used? Is there any way to reform it?
Stephen E. Marantelli, barrister and author of Three Brothers: When George Washington and Edmund Barton Sat Down To Dinner, explains the system and how it works. Stephen has a passion for American history, in particular the history of the presidency.
