Forget those pub crawls and sticky floors, Darlo Sessions is a lush new way to experience the best of Australia's live music scene.
For 3 weekends over Feb-March we're centring FBi's rising stars and triple j darlings on our stage, with shows tailor-made for the Darlo. After a challenging year, these artists spent their time in lockdown creating electric new work. It's time for them to take up space. This is a program of intimate hour-long gigs decked out with 5 star production values.
Our iconic Eternity Playhouse stage will transform into a music-lovers utopia when you're nestled with a beverage, no elbow shoving or spills in sight. Sit back, kick it back, and enjoy them soulful melodies and catchy tracks. You can't get this on Netflix.
imbi
imbi has started a movement of unapologetic truth, self-service, self-belief and self-love with their eclectic brand of 'melodic rap'. Following the release of their breakthrough single swell, this years' revered follow-up i used to featuring SUPEREGO and recently released acclaimed single peaches & scream featuring Genesis Owusu, imbi has made their mark in music and queer communities alike with their vulnerable, authentic expression, and through their unique artistry provides listeners with a sense of connection, camaraderie and solidarity.
imbi's music is a multi-faceted extension of themself that combines elements of hip-hop, R&B and soul, and has been featured locally and abroad by Billboard, Oyster, BBC Radio 6 and triple j. Since arriving seemingly out of nowhere in 2017, the Sydney native has surpassed over 2 million catalogue streams, with performances at Laneway Festival, Listen Out and Groovin The Moo, plus supporting the likes of Sampa the Great, Odette and FKJ.
back then flitters between dream R&B and atmospheric hip hop, overflowing with blooming harmonies that dance over soulful melodies. It is an enchanting body of work, that richly showcases imbi's tender, poetic flow - their distinctive, velvety voice always the standout against the hypnotic yet understated production.
