Thematic exhibitions are engaging, and for ceramic artists there is an increased awareness and inclusion of their work in exhibitions, such as Donna Green at the Powerhouse Museum and Marea Gazzard at the Art Gallery of NSW.
John R Walker recently had a solo survey exhibition at Orange Regional Art Gallery, and Kylie Stillman a solo exhibition at Mornington Peninsula Art Gallery. Emily Kame Kngwarreye is the first female Indigenous Artist to be given a major blockbuster exhibition at the National Gallery of Australia.
Angus Nivison, Christopher Hodges, Helen Eager and John R Walker were all included in 'Inspirations and Iterations', where artists were invited to respond to works in the New England Regional Art Museum in Armidale, NSW.
Peter Maloney is included in in the Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art at the Art Gallery of South Australia.
The recent acquisition by donation of paintings by David Aspden and Gloria Petyarre is celebrated in Macquarie University Gallery's exhibition 'The Act of Giving'.
Papunya Tula Artists such as George Tjungurrayi and Yukultji Napangati were featured in Pintupi Way at the Drill Hall Gallery at the Australian National University in Canberra.
