Forget those pub crawls and sticky floors, Darlo Sessions is a lush new way to experience the best of Australia's live music scene.
For 3 weekends over Feb-March we're centring FBi's rising stars and triple j darlings on our stage, with shows tailor-made for the Darlo. After a challenging year, these artists spent their time in lockdown creating electric new work. It's time for them to take up space. This is a program of intimate hour-long gigs decked out with 5 star production values.
Our iconic Eternity Playhouse stage will transform into a music-lovers utopia when you're nestled with a beverage, no elbow shoving or spills in sight. Sit back, kick it back, and enjoy them soulful melodies and catchy tracks. You can't get this on Netflix.
JamarzOnMarz
Hailing from Orange regional NSW, JamarzOnMarz is a queer rapper and saxophonist of Kenyan and Sri Lankan-Tamil heritage. With storytelling at the creative helm, JamarzOnMarz fuses hip-hop, afrobeats, trap and jazz to bring his lived experiences to life while challenging constructs of sexuality, masculinity and gender.
At 22 years of age, the now Sydney-based artist has soared to new heights, performing with megastar Solange Knowles, in her band, for four sold-out shows at the Sydney Opera House. Solange's iconic track 'Don't Touch My Hair' inspired Jamarz to put an end to school uniform policies that discriminate against students with Afro-textured hair. His petition has quickly amassed over 25,000 signatures featuring on Australia's biggest news networks.
Since bursting onto the scene, JamarzOnMarz has starred on ABC TV's The Recording Studio, collaborating with Horrorshow as a gift to his former teacher. The trailblazer has lit up iconic venues like Sydney Mardi Gras, Riverstage Brisbane, and the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. While his versatility has allowed him to share line-ups with Australian stars Courtney Act, Marcia Hines, Mallrat and San Cisco, as well as supporting Tuka (Thundamentals) and UK grime phenomenon Ocean Wisdom on tour.
