Kuban Firez was a concept developed by artistic Partners Richard Ortega and Yvonne Veivers.
It has evolved further with Yvonne commencing an all-female band Kuban Katz which will be debuting as the support act for the Firez.
Kuban Katz will be presenting the latest music from Cuba like the rock of David Blanco, funky Cimafunk, Haila Mompie, Orishas etc. These high energy girls are led by our amazing Latin Diva, Carmen Alicia and our lovely little Wendy Parra. Hearts will be pumping from the first note of the trombone of our Amy in the opening number of El Diamante..
Kuban Firez will be presenting some of the beautiful favourites of Cuba like El Manisero, Chan Chan, El Carreterro, plus some original songs highlighting climate change and Equality. Lead singer Francisco Toledo is well known as Mr Buena Vista and his renditions will transport you to the barrios of Cuba. The depth of the Afro Cuban rhythm is portrayed in our songs by our amazing Cuban percussionists Yuri Yurisander and Yordan Medina.
The beautiful music of these artists will have you begging for more.
