Meet other people learning to dance swing for a fun, social evening.
There'll be an introduction to the basics for an hour and we will be joined by other dancers until 23:00 when the music stops and we all head home happy and exhausted. This is the first of six sessions although you can join in at any time.
Lindy Hop (a form of Swing) is danced to music from the 1940's: Duke Ellington, Count Basie and, more recently, Robbie Williams. You'll recognise it instantly from films.
Unlike other dance forms, there are no mistakes and saying sorry (unless you get someone's toe). The steps are simple (with an 'emergency step') and everything is a 'variation' which is how the dance evolves. (Don't ask me to repeat a variation, I rarely know!)
I started with two left feet and progressed to where I love the joy, laughter and smiles you see with any dancer. Yes, anyone can dance Lindy Hop and you don't need a partner.
To learn more head to our website: TheThrivers.Life
Secure a spot in the lesson buying a ticket ahead of time or turnup and pay $20 on the door. This is an event run by enthusiasts who'll dance with you, and we ask for this small contribution to hiring the hall, insurance, licenses, etc.
