Tasteful, warm and intuitive, the Sheep lives a quiet life of creativity and compassion.
The Electric Sheep is a nod to a Philip K Dick sci fi novel 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep'.
It takes inspiration from the ancient art of applying paper cut designs to lanterns that dates back to the Song Dynasty (960-1279). The sheep has rounded horns that are both consistent with the 'Year of the Ram' and the favoured breed of sheep in Australia: the Merino. The artist invites you to walk beneath the 2.5m tall sheep lantern.
About the artist
Pamela Mei-Leng See was born in Brisbane to Chinese Malaysian parents who migrated to Australia in 1976. She completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts at Queensland College of Art and has exhibited in Australia and China.
