Celebrate the Chinese New Year at The Morrison Bar & Oyster Room.
We'll be bringing in the year of the Ox, over a delicious selection of limited edition XO dishes, curated by Executive Chef Sean Connolly.
A relative newcomer on the flavour scene, XO sauce is believed to have popped up in Hong Kong in the 80s - and we love it. It's a pretty complex condiment typically made up of dried scallops, squid and shrimp and ham. We've made our own and used it to create a limited edition menu of XO dishes.
With a focus on using the best possible ingredients in the best way, Exec Chef Sean Connolly has worked his culinary magic to conjure up our house-made XO sauce.
A taste of the menu: Chilled XO Sydney Rock oysters, Hong Kong half shell scallops Kilpatrick, XO eggplant typhoon shelter, soft shell XO crab burger, South Australian XO Pipis.
About Us:
Cheeky, stylish and quintessentially Sydney, The Morrison Bar and Oyster Room is nestled in the heart of Sydney's CBD, owned and operated by Sydney Bar Barron, Fraser Short and his group The Sydney Collective.
Occupying the heritage listed Johnson's Building (built in 1912) The Morrison has become iconic for its contemporary New York inspired interiors, the freshest oysters, and vibrant nightlife and atmosphere. The Morrison draws a range of clientele; from corporate diners and after work drinkers, foodies and oyster buffs, to international travel enthusiasts - all seeking to unwind and enjoy the finer things in life and the best of what Sydney has to offer.
COVID-19 Update
What we're doing
We have introduced a number of measures to ensure we can operate as safely as possible and within the government's guidelines. Fewer tables spaced 1.5m apart. Sanitisation available on arrival, to all patrons. All tables and surfaces are thoroughly sanitised after each visit. We are adhering to the restrictions around total guests per space and per square meter. There is increased signage & safety markers.
How you can help
Follow the guidelines and the new social distancing rules. We also recommend using a card and go cashless. If you see something wrong please speak up and don't hesitate to tell a member of our team. Finally please show up to your booking if you've made one.
