Melbourne Celtic Festival is a family friendly event and all ticket proceeds (every cent) will be directed to Community Mental Health programs through Rotary Health which will focus on the bushfire affected areas as well as supporting the important welfare work of the Seafarer's Mission.

Your MC is the inimitable Russell 'Robbo Robertson', with a special guest appearance by Mike Brady, guest speakers, Irish dancers and more... Kick off the first ever Melbourne Celtic Festival with a scrumptious traditional Celtic Brekky of bacon, eggs, sausages, white and black pudding, mushrooms and potato bread provided by Prestige Foods Australia. Optional Celtic Blessing in the Chapel, sung by Maria Forde at 9.40am. (Ticket includes free general admission to the Festival)
BARRY VERSUS KELLY: 7:30 pm
NORLA DOME (There will be a pre-show talk on the life and times of Ned Kelly by Lorraine Lucas at 6:45 pm) A musical drama by Felix Meagher (with additional music by Lou Hesterman and Cyril Moran) The intriguing story of Australia's controversial folk hero, Ned Kelly and the judge who sent him to his ultimate fate. 'One of the best stage shows I have seen.' Steve O'Callaghan (Ticket includes free general admission to the Festival)
WRITING WORKSHOPS: 2:00 pm AND 6:00 pm
(Duration - 2.5 hours) Inspired by the rich tradition of Celtic Poetry, Sherri McIver will help you explore your hidden poet or work on your craft in a friendly, expressive and supportive space. Sherri has written poetry, song lyrics, prose, TV scripts and commercial copy for over 25 years. She regularly holds Hidden Writer workshops in Melbourne and at her home near Castlemaine. (Ticket includes free general admission to the Festival)
FREE CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES: 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Storyteller, Face Painting, interactive Music and Dance. Places strictly limited. Bookings at the door.
