Meridian Sculpture, Australia's first and finest art foundry, is excited to present their popular hands-on, weekend short courses in sculpture modelling this summer. This is a truly unique opportunity to learn or refine your sculpting skills with the option to have your work cast in bronze.
The small-group course is open to all skill levels and creative backgrounds and run by a friendly artist with over 25 years of professional teaching experience.
Taught in a small class size, over two 3-hour sessions, ensures each student receives personalised guidance and instruction.
Working with custom-blended modelling wax, students will:
Develop a sound understanding of the lost-wax process, enabling further development of their skills and confidence beyond the workshop.
Discuss the various approaches to form, texture and surface, and the best use of the numerous hand tool options.
Prepare the wax for casting via a simple sprue system and select the final patina for your work if it is to be cast in bronze.
Held in a fun and encouraging setting, this engaging short course offers an unparalleled grounding in sculptural modelling techniques and a great introduction to the basics of fine art bronze casting.
Small class sizes and experienced tutors allow for great flexibility in student aptitude and experience level; all are welcome!
There are two pricing options for the weekend workshops available:
$290 - Two days sculpture tuition and you take your wax sculpture home at the end of the weekend.
$890 - Two days sculpture tuition, the same as above, only you leave your wax sculpture with the Meridian team to be cast in bronze and coloured to your liking.
