On Saturday 11 June, Marrickville Metro is kicking off their brand new, monthly, Metro Markets on Smidmore St.
Marrickville's favourite unique art and design store Hypmotive has taken their overwhelmingly popular Makers Market and partnered with fresh-food providores Panetta Mercato to curate and bring us this brand new community market.
Renee and Jake of Hypmotive have brought back their community-driven spirit to curate a range of uniquely designed crafts from the best emerging and established local artists, designers and makers from the Inner West and beyond. There will be everything including unique art prints, homewares, handmade jewellery, and vintage fashion - plus you'll have the chance to join in and glaze your own ceramic pots! With up to 20 makers setting up shop monthly at the Metro Markets, you're sure to find something unique and creative!
Partnering with Hypmotive to curate the monthly markets are Christina, Meredith and Dean, the owners behind family-run, fresh-food favourite Panetta Mercato. They have taken their love for incredible food to curate a collective of Australian local deli products, condiments, and specialty grocery goods.
In addition to the myriad of market stalls, the Metro Markets will have a range of entertainment for visitors, young and old alike, as you explore the eclectic array of stalls with activities including:
Face painting
Free food sampling
Live music
And more
The Metro Markets will be taking place monthly on the Ground Level of the Smidmore St. Precinct. With home & interior products, fashion, jewellery, lifestyle product, art and gourmet produce joining their retailers every month, it's the perfect chance to discover something unique and immerse yourself in everything that we love about the Inner West!
