Hailing from the Wheatbelt of Western Australia, singer-songwriter and folk extraordinaire Michael Dunstan has enchanted us with the release of his newest album, Impermanence.
To celebrate, Michael is embarking on a national tour around Australia.
'Impermanence' is an exploration of the intangible side of life that we are often apprehensive to discuss because words fall short of describing the experience. Put simply, to know is not to feel.
The album is an exploration of mindfulness, sources of contentment and what brings us meaning and purpose in life. It asks the listener to be curious about who we are beyond all our perceived labels, identity, emotions, thoughts and explores what it's like to sit in that place behind it all. Who are we beyond all of it? Are we much different to the person next to us? To the animal with a different means of communication? To the natural world?
Venturing far from his quaint regional upbringing in the vast Western Australian Wheatbelt, Michael Dunstan has accomplished a huge amount for being only 23 years old. Touring Australia four times and New Zealand twice in the last 18 months with shows largely sold out, Dunstan has been welcomed with a warm and large loyal following for his craft. Openly sharing personal past struggles with heavy anxiety, Michael hopes to leave all with a piece of mindfulness, and share a new-found appreciation of the beautiful world in which we live.
With a love for the open road, Michael's pensive writing reflects and explores periods of travel, calm and silence, and the accompanying revelations and growth found while transitioning through light to dark periods of our lives.
