Belvoir St Theatre's final show for 2020 is My Brilliant Career. Based on the 1901 novel of the same name written by Miles Franklin. It will be staged from 5 December to 31 January 2021.
It takes us into the world of fiery misfit Sybylla Melvyn, as she wrestles against the restricted life on offer for a young woman in rural Australia a hundred years ago.
Starring Blazey Best, Jason Chong, Tom Conroy, Emma Harvie, Tracy Mann, Nikki Shiels and Guy Simon.
My Brilliant Career also saw a film adaptation in 1979. Directed by Gillian Armstrong starring Judy Davis, Sam Neill and Wendy Hughes.
For those returning to the theatre, a range of stringent new health and safety measures will be implemented to keep the audience, artists and staff safe.
