An exhibition, 'From Bush and Paddock', of collagraphs and linocuts by printmaker, Natalie Bell.
The urban-rural interface, north of Sydney, gives land cleared over 200 years ago that adjoins bush containing enormous original trees. At this line there are stark contrasts that demand to be recorded in print. The chosen print media let found objects tell their stories; to put on paper a transformation.
The artist has lived the whole of her life in this landscape and feels a deep connection to it, which is reflected in the exhibited works. Eight years study at Hornsby TAFE included tutors, Margaret Woodward, Bob Griffiths and Bela Ivanyi. While having practised art for many years and recently under the guidance of painter and lithographer, George lo Grasso, this is her first exhibition.
