Attention oyster lovers.
Don't let your shells go to waste!
The Sydney Opera House is shell-ebrating its 50th birthday with an exciting artwork by Quandamooka Artist Megan Cope.
Call out for participants.
We are calling on the public to participate in an iconic new artwork with thousands and thousands of oyster shells!
Join Quandamooka Artist Megan Cope in creating a new work by signing up to the weekly Workshop OR pretty please donate your cleaned oyster shells to us!
Come meet other curious and creative minds and be ready to have fun and hear/share many magical stories about oysters. We hope it to become a meditative space to take away many new connections and insight into our local history through an indigenous lens, while contributing to the public artwork of preparing and treating oyster shells to shine at the Opera House!
Otherwise, you can also contribute by dropping your clean oyster shells from home or functions into the marked silver crates at Addison Road Community Organisation:
Addi Road Community Space, Drill Hall Building 8 (Old Reverse Garbage Building),142 Addison Rd, Marrickville NSW 2204
We are calling on the community spirit to make this work possible!
Hope to see you all there Sydney!
Workshops run every weekend from 9am - 3pm. (Drop-ins also welcome, stay as long or as little as you like.)
