From his prison cell in 1897, Oscar Wilde wrote a 50,000-word letter to his beloved Lord Alfred 'Bosie' Douglas. Furious and heartbroken, Wilde recounts the emotional injuries he relentlessly suffered from Bosie and speaks of the personal discoveries he makes while incarcerated at Reading Gaol.

Across the world, De Profundis has been presented in powerful readings by Patti Smith, Ralph Fiennes, Maxine Peake, Colm Toibin, Ben Whishaw and Neil Bartlett.

In a special 2-hour theatre event, national treasure Paul Capsis is added to that list. He presents Wilde's pain in an abridged reading of what is ultimately a life crying out for compassion, freedom and the right to choose.
