When it comes to producing a show have you ever wondered- 'Am I doing this right? Is there a better way?' then this is the workshop for you. If everything you know about producing and marketing a show up to this point has been self-taught and you feel that you are winging it…guess what? You're not alone.
What if you had a few more tools in your toolkit to expand your knowledge, bridge the gap between making great work and getting fuller houses and discover new directions and aspects of producing you didn't know before.
This intensive one-day workshop is designed to give you the lowdown on what it takes to survive as a producer in the performing arts. Aimed at independent producers, ensembles and producers in small arts organisations, including artists who self-produce their work with a minimum of 2 - 3 years experience.
You will learn
Defining your producing role
Producing project planning and management
Contracts and agreements
Advanced Budgeting techniques
Participants will be given MILKE templates and producing checklists.
What to Bring
Laptop/iPad and or note pad
Your own utensils/food (we have a fridge and microwave)
